David E McInnis or“Mr. Dabbs” holds a Bachelor’s in Business Management & Masters in Special Education. His schooling expanded over many years – he graduated from Bremerton High School in Bremerton, Washington in 1983. He attended the University of Washington majoring in communication however, switched to National Broadcasting school to finish his communication degree early and obtained his broadcast licenses. In 2006 he graduated from Western International University where he obtained his Associate of Arts in Business. In 2009 he graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science in Management. In 2010 he received a scholarship to the American Board of Certification of Teacher and moved to Florida. In 2011 he graduated from Grand Canyon University where he earned his Masters in Special Education. From September 1990 to June 2001, he worked for the Bremerton school district. He had many jobs in between but missed working with students so he returned to his 1st passion in 2008, education. From 2008 to 2010 he worked for the Central Kitsap school district and started attending school to earn his teaching degree. In October 2010, he relocated to Jacksonville, Florida. He worked as a tutor with Quantum Leap Tutoring while continuing my school studies in special education. I was hired as a substitute teacher with Tiger Academy from February 2011 to April 2012, then obtained a permanent teaching position at Lighthouse Christian School from 2012 to 2015. He then moved to Cornerstone Neighborhood School from 2015 –2016 where he taught 7th grade. He was then ready for the big boys and landed his first job with Duval County Schools (Alden Road) from 2016/2017. From 2017 to 2020 he taught at the Broach Schools.
He is now proud to say that he is the new ESE teacher for San Jose Prep. He is continuing his studies to earn a certification in ESOL.
